We are looking for a skilled Biomedical Engineer to join our team in Accra. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of critical medical equipment, ensuring that our healthcare facilities operate at the highest standard of safety and efficiency.

About the Role:
As a Biomedical Engineer at [Company Name], you will play a crucial role in the lifecycle management of our medical technology assets. You will work within a dynamic operations team to ensure that diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring equipment is functioning accurately and reliably.

About the Team:
You will report directly to the Regional Operations Manager and collaborate closely with clinical staff, procurement teams, and external vendors. We are a supportive group that values technical excellence, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to patient safety.

What Success Looks Like:
Success in this role means achieving a 95%+ uptime for critical medical devices, maintaining strict compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and effectively managing preventative maintenance schedules. You will be the go-to expert for technical troubleshooting, enabling our medical staff to focus entirely on patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections on a wide range of biomedical equipment (e.g., ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps, diagnostic imaging devices).
  • Diagnose and repair equipment faults promptly to minimize downtime, sourcing replacement parts as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inventory logs, and calibration documentation in compliance with local health regulations.
  • Provide technical training and support to clinical staff on the proper use and handling of medical devices.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and manufacturers for specialized repairs and warranty claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, mechanics, and medical device safety standards (e.g., IEC 60601).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical schematics and service manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Ghana.
