Key responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections on a wide range of biomedical equipment (e.g., ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps, diagnostic imaging devices).
- Diagnose and repair equipment faults promptly to minimize downtime, sourcing replacement parts as necessary.
- Maintain accurate service records, inventory logs, and calibration documentation in compliance with local health regulations.
- Provide technical training and support to clinical staff on the proper use and handling of medical devices.
- Coordinate with external vendors and manufacturers for specialized repairs and warranty claims.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
- Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, mechanics, and medical device safety standards (e.g., IEC 60601).
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical schematics and service manuals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Ghana.
